Thank you Janet -and yes – both are on our list for sure! We were in Sedona a few years back and simply fell in love with it!

I moved down to Arizona from Oregon 8 years ago so cant tell you a lot about it, but will give you a couple ideas. First off is the Grand Canyon. Of course, everyone knows about it. You should go through Sedona which has beautiful scenery. There is a little town called Surprise which has a nice zoo. Phoenix has a nice zoo also. It is one of the biggest cities in the US so it has lots of things to do there. I live down in the southeastern part of Az., and we have a lake here called Patagonia Lake State Park. You can take a boat on it, fish, camp and there are some good trails for birdwatching or just for a hike. This area is one of the best places in the US for birdwatching. We get birds coming up from Mexico in the summer that we don’t get to see the rest of the year, but there are still loads of birds here the rest of the year too. There are several things to see in Tucson; Zoo, Biosphere (8 people lived in this self sustaining habitat for 2 years cut off from the outside world), the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum, Pima Air Space Museum and Old Town Tucson. Lots of great places to eat, but we love sushi and we eat at the Sushi Garden when we get to town. If you are into old western movies you can’t miss Tombstone!! There are shops to explore, gunfights on the streets and a re-enactment of the OK Corral. The area was copper mined so in the town of Bisbee you can take a tour of a copper mine. It’s a short distance from Tombstone. Those are the only places I can think of right now, but if you have questions I would be glad to answer them for you. If I don’t know the answer, I will find out. Enjoy your trip!!

The Biosphere is a great suggestion! Forgot about that and would love to see it. And Patagonia park sounds like it would be right up our alley! Thanks so much for all of the suggestions for both states Rose!
